How many copies did “Connected” by The Foreign Exchange sell?
Question by isaacepiii: How many copies did “Connected” by The Foreign Exchange sell?
The Foreign Exchange is a rapper/producer duo. Rapper Phonte’ Coleman is in another rap group named “Little Brother” out of North Carolina. Producer Matthijs L. Nicolay Rook, or Nicolay for short, is a producer from the Netherlands. While recording this album, Nicolay still lived in the Netherlands, which is about a SEVEN-HOUR time difference from North Carolina where Phonte’ stayed. The The two met on okayplayer.com. Nicolay would send Phonte’ beats via Yahoo! Messenger. Phonte’ would rap over them and send them back to Nicolay. Hence the title ‘The Foreign Exchange”, get it?Then someone would go into a studio and record, mix, and master it, I guess. Their album “Connected” was released under BBE (Barely Breaking Even) Records was released sometime at the end of 2004. The 17 tracks segue into, or are “connected” to one another. A great CD to go for a drive to or to just sit back and relax to.
